TO & FRO FORGET DEBUT // WELCOME TO THE IMPOSSIBLE

TO & FRO FORGET DEBUT

Local soundbender and neighbour To & Fro, Forget has released its first EP, Dissociated Dance, consisting of three smooth wind paintings they describe as "experimental" and "unharsh noise". If you ask me, this shit is the future of hip hop, which is probably not true in any way. Check it out. (Also check out To & Fro's SoundCloud).

WELCOME TO THE IMPOSSIBLE

The Symposium is the greatest forum for discourse, and apparently it makes a great one for art. Partygoers' first EP showed you the door to chaos, bilateral excision, and the beautiful patterns in getting concussions by throwing your head back too violently; a year later, the project has not succumb to inanition, merely slumbered its antipodal hibernation, awaking into winter with spite and warm humanity. Their album is the purging fires of bohemian mental systemic climes. They reconcile a spiritual desire to achieve Ego death, and laud one's own genius. Created exclusively from naive party noise, as well as impeccable foresight. Indulge here.

"we pick up the project almost a year later. it's winter, and things are appropriately more grim. track 9 interpolates "stairway to heaven," "i wanna be your dog," "(i wanna be) your neuroplasty," and "do the strand." god knows what could be said of this. produced with the help of ku & m+hn. welcome to the impossible."

JPB //RHEIA VASQUEZ EP

JPB
Montreal-based first-time producer JPB has decided to throw up some new shit she's been working on, a trip-hop single with a trap-inspired B side . Check out Scalding Hotfeaturing bedroom guitarist Tenant of Neptune.

DYLROCK
Now apparently sampling music that doesn't come from radio IDs and commercials, Rheia has released a new 2-track album, DylRock, featuring samples from The Amphetamines. DylRock expands on the work done by Rheia for TrynPop and RilCore, the artist's original two releases in a series of albums Rheia hopes will cover every genre of music.

UNHINDERED MHM // KP0KOK9IJNM // RHEIA VASQUEZ IS GONNA MAKE MUSIC IN EVERY GENERE // YOU'RE INVITED TO OiD 2!

THE UNHINDERED MHM: UNFOUNDED PERSONALITIES

Three fucking losers with no drum kit! Seriously who do these guys think they are... they aren't making music, they aren't doing shit, they don't even have a drum kit. They're trying to be a real fucking band and shit, and what have they got? A toy Casio, a bunch of recorders, and some fuckin' pop bottles to make noise with. The youth don't understand how much effort it takes to make REAL music.

Making your tracklist for your album at the suggestion of drunk people at a party, then playing it all out until you're either laughing so hard you can't move anymore, or you've fallen asleep. That's not music... that's... that's bullshit!

kp0kok9ijknm: Dear Universe
A ukulele, vocals, and poetry trio has hit the scene with a name that I will  fatally choose to pronounce as Pokemon. With lyrics by Andrew Burrows, organiser of Opportunities in Disguise and certified Malayan Movie star, has supplied buttloads of lyrics to make songs out of. The first buttload has been delivered, a tiny album called Dear Universe.

RHEIA VASQUEZ: MUSIC IN EVERY GENRE

Rheia Vasquez, a noise musician who once played in Hertz, has informed us they've been reading:
"Oh yah bud that's some cool shit u got here, i mite wel throw sum shit rite yp there ya hear me? i had this thing in mind i been thinkin about it all the times eh so its like ima do every genre of music and make some shit for it"
Lord Vasquez tells us they plan on making "a few or more" songs in every single genre of music and give us the story on each release. We were skeptical, but the Lord promised us that they'd
"doo every fucken flavour of ear dancin there is pal".
Rest assured, it would happen. But the Lord still offered one warning:
"the thing is u know im like listening to tooons of music from like who the fuck even knows where every day you know, but i'm gonna do the genres in the order i wanna. and like i dunno if you'll even know this shit i'm doing i mean like i don't even fucken know you know, like... idk bro lol who knows haha"
We were persuaded! Surely Vasquez would uphold their word, as they promised us,
"some shit I did way back in the day was on Kingston Underground, that bullshit Queen's thing you were talking about earlier."
They've given us their first release in this series, a double EP, with two genres (don't look at us) "interpreted" by Vasquez:

YOU, YOUNG PATRIOT, ARE INVITED TO OiD 2!

Come one, come all, bring your instruments and brain music and join our improvised orchestra for the recording of our second symphony, Opportunities in Disguise #2!

With the assistance of beautiful fate, we know our music will be flawless, because there are no mistakes, only opportunities! PLEASE BRING:
-Guitars, basses, amps, ukeleles, amps.
- Keyboards of any flavour
- Drums, bongos, tambourines
- Voices, minds and spirits
-Anything you please!

This shit will probably be going down at the Artel on Feburary 9th and probably have a price of 6$ or pay what you can, but all must be determined by fate.

AMPHETAMAS CHRISTOSIS DOUBLE RELEASE // INTRODUCING THE RED POWER RANGERS

AMPHETAMAS CHRISTOSIS DOUBLE RELEASE
Tis the season of giving, or being cold, or doing neither, we don't judge. The Amphetamines utilized the Christian holiday tradition, and the advent rising before it, as a vehicle to release an LP and EP in the most novel and magnanimous of ways. Every day leading up to Christosis, they've released a different single, with covers (if you can call them that) on alternate days.

Over the course of this project their style has varied from their traditional lo-fi hardcore to their pop magnum opus, Magic Facility. For you, dear listeners, the Amphetamines have re-released all 24 singles in a festive compilation: Amphetamas Christosis: 24 Songs for the Advent Season

Check it out before Krampus gets ya!

On the day of Amphetamas, when everyone expected a final song, our favourite punk band surprised us with a new EP to fill up the rest of the days of the month! The Wobbly EP is a series of a experimental re-interpretations of a traditional mariner's song, haunting us through 6 tracks. Listen online if you dare... but watch out for the clown.

INTRODUCING THE RED POWER RANGERS
Activities run out quickly at extended family gatherings, and this was as good as any. A pseudo-holidy EP recorded by Tenant of Neptune and his cousin. Share good vibes this holiday season, and the spirit of artistic expression, especially to those who do not believe they have the capacity. We are all the red Power Ranger.

The Red Power Rangers will be back, soon, for the second edition of a certain collaborative self-exploration music series. Watch out, Rita Repulsa!

TARYN'S ROOM // SCIENCE & FAIRY TALES // FIVE MORE CUTS

TARYN'S ROOM
Impromptu film born of a desire to improvise based on a pre-arranged premise. Artistic communities and metaphysical incongruities.

SCIENCE & FAIRY TALES

Nupela's fourth album of nocturnes for sunny days. It includes Charmeleon and Rosolato, as heard on the Season One Mixtape. Featuring the talented Mircat, it follows the garage sounds of its predecessor, before expanding into folk and roots music.

A sequence of visions witnessed by a cat and father in his drunken dreams slumped over the bar counter.

Enjoy.

FIVE MORE CUTS
Tenant of Neptune, a solo ambient project based on toy guitar samples, has released a satellite EP to its recent debut album, Mono No Aware. Diverging from previous efforts, 'Five More Cuts' is 20 minutes of pieces for guitar, more classically influenced than anything we've heard so far from the Tenant.

MONO NO AWARE // AMPHETAMINES MUSICAL ADVENT CALENDER

MONO NO AWARE
The pathos of things is a shared experience, soundtracked by bedroom recording project TofN's first full-length record, Mono No Aware. Tenant's followup effort to 1 ½continues and expands upon the themes of melancholia and ephemera, the exclusive use of acoustic samples, while introducing a warmth (which may just be a pipe dream). The album traverses a narrative of night into day:  a busy night of juxtaposed secrets and emptiness, from which your memories cause wincing and self-hatred, as is too often the case; culminating in an encounter which leaves your already troubled mind traumatized; and the morning after, your chance to cleanse. The night of detachment giving way to the light of empathy. Heaviness to a tremulous levity.

Debut Tenant of Neptune LP
Freestyle on track 5 by Crybaby of Venus
Anti-lyrics on track 6 by Ryan Martin II, refrain melody not by Miriam Michielin
"Scantily is such stoicism seen in character, that morphs so seamlessly the life of a monastic dandy (in the best of senses) with that of a 21st century student."
-- Santiago Fernández

AMPHETAMINES MUSICAL ADVENT CALENDAR
This holiday season, Christian rock band (or something) The Amphetamines are releasing a song a day to bring some levity to our freezing spirits! We have no idea whether these are new tracks, old tracks, or if they were even recorded by any of the current members, but it'll definitely be an entertaining way to avoid friends and family this December!

The Amphetamines are kickstarting the project with the release of Anarchy in Finland, a promotional single and today's drug-riddled and parent-frightening song. The Amphetamines were featured on the classic compilation Kingston Underground, which will be released online for the first time very soon.
